Figuring out your Skin Type

Figuring out your skin type is actually pretty easy once you know what to look for. Here’s a simple guide you can try at home:

🔍 Step 1: Do the “Bare-Face Test”

  1. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser.

  2. Pat dry and do not apply anything (no moisturizer, no toner).

  3. Wait 1 hour.

Then check how your skin feels and looks.

💧 Oily Skin

  1. Skin looks shiny, especially on the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin)
  2. Feels greasy to the touch
  3. Often has enlarged pores or frequent breakouts

🌵 Dry Skin

  1. Skin feels tight or rough

  2. May look flaky or dull

  3. Can feel itchy or irritated

  4. Pores appear very small

🌗 Combination Skin

  1. Oily in the T-zone

  2. Dry or normal on the cheeks

  3. This is the most common type

🙂 Normal Skin

  1. Feels balanced — not too oily or too dry

  2. Pores are small

  3. Few breakouts

  4. Skin looks smooth and healthy

🧊 Sensitive Skin

(Not a type, but a condition)

  1. Stings, burns, or gets red easily

  2. Reacts to new products

  3. Often feels uncomfortable with fragrances or harsh ingredients

✨ Optional: The Blotting Paper Test

Gently press blotting paper on different parts of your face after 1 hour:

  1. Paper is oily everywhere → Oily skin

  2. Paper has oil only from T-zone → Combination

  3. Little to no oil → Normal or Dry
