Figuring out your Skin Type
Figuring out your skin type is actually pretty easy once you know what to look for. Here’s a simple guide you can try at home:
🔍 Step 1: Do the “Bare-Face Test”
Wash your face with a gentle cleanser.
Pat dry and do not apply anything (no moisturizer, no toner).
Wait 1 hour.
Then check how your skin feels and looks.
💧 Oily Skin
- Skin looks shiny, especially on the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin)
- Feels greasy to the touch
- Often has enlarged pores or frequent breakouts
🌵 Dry Skin
Skin feels tight or rough
May look flaky or dull
Can feel itchy or irritated
Pores appear very small
🌗 Combination Skin
Oily in the T-zone
Dry or normal on the cheeks
This is the most common type
🙂 Normal Skin
Feels balanced — not too oily or too dry
Pores are small
Few breakouts
Skin looks smooth and healthy
🧊 Sensitive Skin
(Not a type, but a condition)
Stings, burns, or gets red easily
Reacts to new products
Often feels uncomfortable with fragrances or harsh ingredients
✨ Optional: The Blotting Paper Test
Gently press blotting paper on different parts of your face after 1 hour:
Paper is oily everywhere → Oily skin
Paper has oil only from T-zone → Combination
Little to no oil → Normal or Dry
